DIY Headband (silk roses)

Washi tape headband
It all started with this basket (above). I was about to toss it when I remembered who gave it to me (my amazing sister in-law). She always wraps my Christmas gifts in things she crafts together. Of course I try and top her. This basket/gift has been in my possession that's say 7 years or so. I think it's about time for us to part ways. However, i'll just pull the roses off then throw together a headband... just because I can.

You will need an old basket that you don't want with roses on it that you don't need. (see above)

8  silk roses (color optional)
1  glue gun w/glue sticks (5)

1  can spray paint black (flat)
pliers/wire cutters for stems from said roses (this will help w/unwanted glue)
.
.. and a headband (I used 2'" wide for large/heavy roses)
I spray-painted my headband black to give the roses a dramatic look.

Trim your roses flush.

Start be placing your flowers on the right side working left. That's what I did even though the pic's show you differently. You want it to be even so, I assembled my roses in a train like pattern before I glued them on. Try not to mush your roses to much, kinda let the personality of the roses and leaves form.

Here are three different looks.

What do you think?

I like the first one.

That's it. I can't wait to show my sister in-law. I wonder if she even remembers these.

Avant-garde

How crazy are these hair styles? I think they are true works of art. The time and detail, not to mention the pain to wear them. These girls should get paid well for their efforts. When I was younger I would dabble a little art form here and there with my own hair, or anyone that walked by. Hell! just yesterday I pinned my hair up with suckers (that is what I was working with at the moment)... and my hair needed to be out of my face.) I also crochet hair for a different kind of look (I'll post video soon) it's killer to pull out if your in a hurry though:).. ~*M

Washi Tape Headband

I just made this. What do you think about it? I think this headband with it's mosaic/collage-ish design of washi tape, is FUN, UNIQUE, and CLEVER. To make the bow stand out from the band it needed it's own story. To translate that story I used a ribbon effect. This headband should only be worn by someone who has their own story to tell.

About me♥

OK, this is my first blog and I'm not very confident in what to write or post on here. Therefore, I'm open to any pointers that you might have, including the ones you give noobs like me. I probably wont be on here as much as I should, or my edit/grammar will be all that great, or even post everything I should. That being said I (미안합니다) apologize before hand.

SoOooo about me... hum.. tap... tap...tap...(thumps head).. umm... well I'm a gamer @ heart, and I have been most of my life (Go Atari!) that should tell you how old I am. I was put on this earth to be a Mother/사랑해요/Creative thinker/Gamer/Crafter. This means I 'd rather be fighting Zombies, or crashing up cars, and swoon over Ezio Auditore da Firenz (Sigh), along with making PB&J for the family... then to do anything else. I don't like Facebook, I miss Myspace bc I love to tweak things up (Go HTML).  However, I do have one.... (YUK!)... If you want to add me. I might not replay for a while but It will happen for you. I'm really into Korean dramas, and I'm trying to learn the language so I will be posting "words" on my blogs (as you can see above). I am 50% good at everything I do, (I do mean EVERYTHING!) I find everything extremely  fascinating. However, I'm like a dog that sees a car and runs after it, then I get frustrated bc I can't catch up to said car, then I get easily distracted until I see another car and then I do the same thing over again. Wait, isn't there some kind of adult ADD category I might fall into? Feel free to express your opinion below.. umm...  did I mention I was a compulsive liar, I really don't care what you have to say.  Na na na.. JK...  I'm really not like a dog at all. I just put that there to get your attention. I do care about what you have to say, and I will cry for days over it so please be kind. It's true that I usually have 5 things going at once. Although, I wont start anew project until I have completed them all.  I craft everything that's not tied down ( lets feel bad my poor husfriend insert MOOD sequence here AW aw Aw aw... OK! that's enough.)  Truth be told I'm not very good at crafts. It's mostly in my head where all the excitement happens. I wish y'all could see whats going on in there. "I think" It would be limitless just like my imagination. Now all I need is: $Won$, a Junk yarn, a Craft store, maybe a Hardware store, and definitely a Candy store, etc. Odds are it's not gonna happen for me all at once soOoo, I must work with what I have. I'll use this blog for me to vent, create, and feed off of yours/mine creativity. I pray you will help me out from time to time. I'll be post'n pics of my top 5 projects I'm working on. (Who me?-Who said that?)

(감사합니다)
Thank you
